Much like Storm Claudia hit the northern region the prior day, Manchester City overwhelmed United away at the Etihad. It was a statement three goal victory for Andrée Jeglertz’s side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their title credentials as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Consecutive Setbacks for Manchester United

This result signalled consecutive WSL defeats for Marc Skinner’s side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a significant margin off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions severely dented.
